About TFTW

Shortly after my restoration to the Lord in 1999, the Lord laid a burden on my heart concerning those engaged in serving the Lord as missionaries throughout the world. Many spend so much of their time sharing the Word of God to the unsaved and new believers, and have few opportunities to ‘feed’ themselves. This, coupled with my love for the Word and the need to share what the Lord teaches me, gave birth to a new ministry. I had two burdens—to teach the Word and somehow be a blessing to missionaries.

While praying about this need in my life, the thought of sharing over the internet the things I was learning from the Word came to mind. By doing this, both burdens could be met. But then, how many missionaries have computers, let alone access to the internet? A little research determined that there were many. So, on March 29, 2000, I sent the first TFTW (Thoughts From The Word) to two missionaries whom I had known 25 years previously. The rest, as the saying goes, is history.

God has been pleased to bless this ministry, and, today, at the press of a button, TFTWs speed to 20 countries and hundreds of persons—from Scandinavia to Australia, Mongolia to Senegal, Israel to Russia, England to Brazil, and many other countries. I constantly receive emails from folk I do not know saying that a friend forwards the TFTWs to them every week. This is such a great encouragement and humbles me to know the Lord is using this ministry.

As word spread about these weekly TFTWs, others locally (in the USA) have asked to receive them. There have been many challenges over the past 12 years, but the blessings far outweigh them. The greatest encouragement comes from 2 Timothy 2:9 “The word of God is not bound,” and Isaiah 55:11 “My word … shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

I am pleased to make available every TFTW that has been written since the outset of this ministry. The TFTWs may be located in the TFTW Archive menu either by date or scriptural reference.

Truly, from a small seed, God is giving the increase—1 Cor 3:6.
